Parvati Mother of the Universe, she represents the infinite power of the universe and is a symbol of a female dynamism. She is the embodiment of knowledge. Parvati is considered as the supreme Divine Mother and all other goddesses are referred to as her incarnations or manifestations. Parvati thus symbolises many different virtues: fertility, marital felicity, devotion to the spouse, asceticism, and power.

She is the source of all power in this universe and that because of her; Lord Shiva gets all his powers. Parvati translates to She of the mountains and refers to Parvati being born the daughter of Himavan, lord Himalayas. Other names which associate her with mountains are Shailaja (Daughter of the mountains), Girirajaputri (Daughter of king of the mountains).

Shiva is seen as the supreme God. Just as Shiva is at once the presiding deity of destruction and regeneration, the couple jointly symbolizes at once both the power of renunciation and asceticism and the blessings of marital felicity.

Relationship With God

According to MadBhagwad Gita:
As soon as one becomes a devotee of the Lord, he also has a direct relationship with the Lord. That is very elaborate subject matter, but briefly it can be stated that a devotee is in a relationship with the Supreme Personality of Godhead in one of five different ways:

1. One may be a devotee in a passive state.
2. One may be a devotee in a active state.
3. One may be a devotee in as a friend.
4.  One may be a devotee in a parent.
5. One may be a devotee in a conjugal lover.

Arjun was in a relationship with the Lord as friend.
